hi wingers
greetings from across the pond! a few online wing riders worldwide have fitted the electrical connections special stator, rectifier harness. this was a redesign of the Campbell's harness. it advises more power, better connectivity, no more burnt wires etc. does it work? or is it snake oil? has anyone fitted one to their 1200's and seen the bike running better or is it just a gimmick? roll up, roll up, this special harness will allow your 1200 bike to beat jet bikes at Bonny? any advice is greatly received! kind regards Angel |

I have installed the harness on my bike and my friends bike, cant say it ran any better but it did improve some connections and wiring. Spending time to clean up any connection that you have on the bike might be just as good an improvement. I did remove mine when I installed an external alternator.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I have the Electrical Connections harness installed. Since I also have the PoorBoy external alternator conversion. I had contacted EC about what to do after installing an alternator with an internal voltage regulator. He said all I have to do is unplug the connector at the OEM regulator. This way the coils are still powered via relay direct to the battery. I've been running it like that for three years.

The EC mod was the first mod I did to the Wing. Just after I bought the bike I was researching anything and everything, learning all I could (And before I found this site). The EC site and mod seemed to go along with all the weak stator information I was gathering. So I went with the EC mod because the coils are originally powered from the stator, a variable power source. The EC mod takes power directly from the battery via a relay. Good solid 12 volt power. So I didn't do the mod because it ran bad, but to make sure I had good constant voltage to the coils. Installation was super easy. It was worth doing, however, depending on your resources, I would say the PoorBoy external alternator conversion is worth doing first.
The biggest difference in running was when I installed new quality timing belts AND sync'd the carbs. |

I have a brand new, never installed, in the shipping box from EC that I bought May 2013. I gave up on doing the Stator Shuffle (3 failures-1 OEM & 2 from RMStator) and went with a Poor Boy Geo alternator. I have no use for it now and want to sell it. It looks to be high quality and fairly easy to install. PM me if you can use it. I'm asking $40 (it cost me $60) plus shipping (my zip code is 60185)

I've still got it. How about upgrading your stator connection for only $30 plus shipping. PM me if you are interested.
