Follow the upper radiator hose to the motor, the thermostat will be where it makes connection (if memory serves me correctly)

You should find a good online parts fiche for your bike and bookmark it. it will come in handy for locating parts and part numbers. This is a very complete one for your bike

Gadgit, you will find a listing for an automotive hose (for a Renault I believe) that, cut in two, serves well for both the upper and the lower hose.

The numbers are North American but your auto supply store might be able to cross over, and perhaps Gates numbers are good in England.

You will find that and many other cross over numbers here viewtopic.php?f=63&t=162

When servicing the cooling system, don’t disregard the overflow tank, tube from the radiator to the overflow tank.
There is a plastic elbow coming out of the overflow tank and IF it has a crack or break in it, (or in the tube for that matter), when the radiator cools and tries to draw coolant from the overflow tank, it will be sucking air through this break and not coolant from the overflow tank.
Over time your radiator will be down a significant amount of coolant and may cause cooling issues.

Also, just because it fits, doesn’t mean it is for your application – the radiator cap. Don’t install a cap with a higher pressure rating than the original as this can also cause cooling issues.

Doing the job completely and with the right parts assures many trouble free riding (s)miles.

Great info coming in :YMAPPLAUSE:

I'm having trouble locating the bits here in GB

Might have to order from us dealer but the shipping costs and taxes are making it impossible

Ie. I rad hose $ 6.99. Shipping to GB $ 42.99. Customs duty £ 17.50p Handling charge £15.00p

That makes aprox $ 90 For $ 7 part ????????????

I'll keep cross referencing and looking

Ps it's foggy here lol :YMHUG:

Thanks again folks :-J

Update update update

Whilst awaiting for parts to arrive from the states
I've stripped off the radiator flushed throu and cleaned
Checked out hoses
Checked out thermostat
Checked out water pump
All seen to work ??

All put back refilled with coolant ran engine for half an hour in garage temp went to five bars

Took for a run two hours on motorway / freeway m25 around London 70 -85 mph temp up to 4-5 bars
Then throu central London for one hour. temp 4-5 bars when sat at damm lights or queuing temp rose to 6 bars but soon went back to 4-5 bars once moving

I think my cooling probs are resolved and that's before the new parts are fitted :d :d

I thank all you guys for your info, tips guidance your all wonderful :YMAPPLAUSE: :YMAPPLAUSE: :YMAPPLAUSE:

Whether or not you removed the false tank, make sure the overflow hose from the overflow tank is not getting pinched or has a kink in it as it makes its way to the ground.
Make sure the radiator cap seal is in good working order and that the cap is screwed on properly.
If all is in good working order, the little bit of coolant on the floor may be just what you suspect. It may take a few rides for the cooling system to adjust its coolant level.
Once the system has stabilized, barring a spirited ride or high ambient temperatures, you should not see anything on the floor in the vicinity of the overflow tank, overflow hose.

When you do see coolant on the floor, clean it up and rinse with water as the coolant is very slippery and some cats and dogs may be drawn to drink it as it has a sweet taste to it.

When I did the thermostat and related items on our '84, I also noted a small amount of new coolant on the floor when I fired her up. It only happened the once (whew!) and has not dripped since.
