Excess fuel usage
My 1985 Ltd has been giving me some drive-ability problems. I've replaced the fuel filter, one not working injector and last week the TPS. I replaced the injector, and it ran so much smoother, and the economy of the computer was 38-45 mpg all the time. Then only replacing the TPS and it dropped to 18-24 mpg. What's up with that .... I didn't touch anything else ?

Agreed... The TPS will need to be adjusted using the manual procedures.

Adjust the TPS how? I checked the resistance before installing and throttle response is perfect now :-(
How is the adjustment done ?

Today I checked and adjusted the TPS. It calls for .45-50 but when set there it doesn't preform properly, so after three different adjustments I setting on .75 which doubled the MPG, and had the correct throttle response. Thaks to everyone for the help and suggestions. It's finally working the right way :YMHUG:
