need new plug wires

i read on here that plug wires from an85 prelude would work on my 84 1200. i heard talk about resistor wires and non resistor. i dont mind paying for oem but is there something different i should be using. wondered what everyone else is using. thanks for any input

There's a thread on replacement wires, can use Summit Racing #TAY-73053.

although i'm the one that posted the thread regarding the taylor wires and recommend them over the stock wires and caps,the stock wires are actually solid core 7mm wire attached to ngk resistor caps

thanks for the help im going to order the taylor wires today. i replaced the ngk spark plugs and boots last year then realized my problem was in the wires. #3 plug wire is corroded and doesnt like to fire at low rpm, fires great at high rpm. had me thinking i had a carb issue at first.

exactly the problem i experienced before i changed to taylor wires,i believe the problem actually rested in a problem with the ngk caps,which are replaced in the taylor setup

i ordered the taylor wires. i think your correct about the wire to boot connection. the day i found the corrosion on #3 plug i cut the end of the wire off, reinstalled it and it ran like a new bike for about three miles or so. seems like all 4 wires are just a little short to get a good connection on the pin inside the boot. also my plugs already have the caps instaled so no searching for those. thanks for the help neo. mark

have been having problem with loosing fire on one cylinder when riding in rain or after washing wing. I have received Dayna 8mm wires with boots already installed, and going to check weep holes once I start changing wires. I did replace wires and NGK caps a year or so ago, got caught in rain and bike ran like crap. Hope this fixes problem.

When you put your new caps on put a dab of dielectric grease on the top of each plug..that will also help keep the water out.
