"Delayed" starter engagement
Having recently pulled and cleaned up my starter button, I thought I had fixed my problem. Pushing the button results in a delay before the starter engages. Does this sound like starter relay? I have never had one do this.

Has me scratching my head.

Could be the starter clutch rollers sticking.

Seafoam treatment in the oil can help if it is that. Put a can in and run for 2-300 miles then do an oil change and filter of course
