Finally washed winter off
Spring is here - even if a bit late in Cape Town, South Africa - with a all its pleasures. That means my baby gets the winter washed off, all fluids topped up, a lot of spit & polish and I can ride, any day of the week from 05:00 in the morning to 20:30 when the sun goes down (or if my heart so desires even till late at night as our summer temperature is on average 28 degrees celcius). Did ride during winter, but due to the constant rain its no fun... so, just a pic ot two the wet the appetite!

Nice pix....

Your winter is over, it is just knocking at the door here. We have some nice fall riding coming, but the snow will be flying sooner than I care to see......

Then it is the seemingly endless wait until spring :x
A rainy day off beats a sunny day at work any time..................

I still love those knee pads on your wing, they are the second ones I have seen in pics. the first being on an 84 in Norway.

I have the same bike and have been looking for those tank/knee pads for years, thus far nobody has identified them nor have I ever seen any others!

Most common quote from a cager after killing a motorcyclist.

"I never saw him" instead of "I never looked for him".

Had the false tank off and while this was done removed the pads. They are just screwed onto with 3 self-tapping screws. No markings!    I even spoke to the PO who imported the bike. He can't remember where he had bought them, apart from "on a trip somewhere in the states in the mid-eighties". Sorry, can't shed any more light on it.

However, it should not be to difficult to fabricate. Its a bit of chrome and leather....many guys on this forum who are brilliant with their hands (I'm unfortunately not one!)

Send me a PM if you want me to remove them and take a full set of photos with dimensions.
