Congratulations and welcome from Central Ohio! I actually got mine from my dad when he decided he needed reverse (read 1500) for his arthritis.

I made it to Wing Ding this year and 3 years ago. Pretty impressive, great vendor expo, kinda of like a scavenger hunt for parts for these bikes though! Typical GWRRA event, top-notch.

Made my first rookie mistake today.. Never ride in the sun and 100F+ weather in short sleeves... My arms looks like bacon! They feel like it too!

I have a perforated padded jacket for summer and leather jacket in the colder weather. I never ride without a jacket for protection from the sun and road rash.

My summer jacket is a Nitro, I paid $75 on sale. When the wind blows through it it's almost cooler than not wearing one, the only time it is hot is when I am in stop and go traffic.

My all season coat is a Tourmaster mesh Flex 2 My wife's is Tourmaster is intake air.

I used to ride in T shirt until I learned some sense Smile

In Niagara Falls yesterday, I think it was about 33C+ hot when we were stopped but comfortable when moving.
I was wearing a T shirt underneath and what some riders do is to carry a spray bottle of water and periodically wet down their T shirts, when moving the air moving through the jacket, they say makes then quite cool.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Think with my next paycheck, a trip to the Honda dealer is in order so I can find myself a nice summer jacket. I have my leather jacket and chaps for winter riding, but as I said earlier. No summer attire. I defiantly don't wanna have 1st degree burns again! The little boogers hurt!

Belated Happy Birthday and welcome to the best GL1200 site on the Web.

Earlier this year, my son "inherited" my mint condition Honda Shadow VT500c for his birthday. Since he lives 3,000 miles from me now, we're not likely to go riding together. I'm sure he'd also love to get his hands on my GL1200 Int. but I still have some roads to ride on it for awhile.

I envy your dad being able to ride with you ... both of you are lucky Wingers.

Ride in health and safety!

Congratulations. Nice to see a young rider on a bike that is older than himself!

I was a member of GWRRA for many years, and am still very active with them today. The members are wonderful, and the education program there is terrific, however you need to be aware that it is owned by one man and his family in Pheonix, and when he decides something that is it, and he can and will go out of his way to attack and hurt you, such a pity since if it were left to the members then it really would be 'Friends for Fun Safety and Knowledge.

Those of us who are no longer allowed to be on their BBS can all be found on this wonderful board, the Exiles Board, http://gwrra.info/index.php and Steve Saunders Irish forum http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/ same people, same knowledge of the older bikes, and just as much fun.

I suppose that just like any membership that has an administrator or a manager with full discretion there can be times that decisions must be made that will negatively affect a few members so there can be benefits derived by many members if that is what you mean about G.W.R.R.A. management unionjack. Over the years I have had to make some difficult decisions about members here because some members were abusive, arrogant and totally oblivious to their poor behavior and how it affected others on this site. If that is what you mean by attacking and hurting then I have to say to you that things like that are necessary at times, from a management perspective. I miss the folks I had to throw off this site, but, I sure don't miss their negative behavior. I've been dealing with G.W.R.R.A. for about a decade and time has proven that they have been fair, honest and extremely helpful over the years and I just didn't want folks to think that G.W.R.R.A. is like a foreign dictatorship because it's not. They certainly have their ways but not unlike any other family or business out there and for the most part they are willing and eager to serve members in the best way they can.
