Front Brake, No Light
Hi Fellows ! When I pull the front brake, the brake light does not light. It lights up when rear pedal is applied just fine.
I can hear the micro switch "click" when I pull the front lever.
Any ideas where I should start with this one ?
Thanks in advance, for any help! Dan.

Pull the wires off the switch and test the contacts for continuity when the lever is pulled. If none either a new switch or remove the switch and soak in wd40 then try again...
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Had the same problem with my 84.
Just unplug like Tricky said and you can remove the switch....1 screw. You can split the switch along the seam and remove the internals...very simple switch. Clean the contact points and you should have a brake light. May need a dot or two of super glue (your call).
My contacts did not seem too bad, but after I cleaned them the switch worked like new.

tricky, I sprayed contact cleaner in the switch, activated it a few times, then followed up with a squirt of WD40, no go. Thanks for the tip!

WildWing, Thanks for the pic's ! I will do this in the morning, and will post my results!

Like wildwing, I had the switch fail on our '84. If memory serves, a new replacement wasn't all that expensive from the local Honda shop. Couple of minutes to re and re and the problem was fixed.

Well, I only got as far as unpluging the connectors to the switich and they were black grungy corroded !

A good cleaning of the terminals and spades, and whalla brake lights !

Noticed mine was not working last night.. worked on the issue this afternoon.. nothing.. got my testing light night. Had power.. and if connected.. had power thru the switch.. and the handle would turn on the testing light when clutched..

So.. reversed the plugs ins.. BINGO..
