Fuel Light Comes on with alot more than 1.0 gal BEWARE

took my SEI for a ride today,left home with 4.0 gals of fuel in tank,about 15 miles from home noticed the voltmeter had dropped to 13.8 volts,strange when its usually at rock steady 14.5v

about a mile down the road,the fuel light came on and the TC read 1.0 gal,then all of a sudden started slowing down and finally quit,no dash warnings lights or anything

no power at all,pulled cover and found a melted 30 amp fuse,replaced fuse and had power,went to crank,battery voltage 11.4v until i hit starter, 9.4v and DEAD...grrrrr

so if anyone runs into a similar problem,the fuel light coming on early when it shouldn't may be having the same problem as this,dont know whether the same results would happen with an aspy but next time hopefully i'll have enough brains to pull over before i drive the battery dead,i imagine the battery just went dead enough that it didn't have the power to fire the injectors

Good to know......on my 85 LTD, the light for the tail light comes on in the dash when the 30 amp fuse goes out I have found. When we first got the bike and it still had the dog bone, when it went out is when it first happened to me and tracing the tail light issue, found it is linked to the dog bone, and now the replacement 30 amp fuse..... Glad you weren't to far from home when it happened.

my bike is all led,taillight light comes on all the time,never with any onset problem involved,might stay on all day then maybe five minutes,even though the wire has been cut which supposedly stops it but the fuel light is a new one on me,one i dont need again
