Green Grease
Would Synthetic Green Grease be suitable on drive splines etc. ?

Only if it has the required moly amount. Normal grease won't "stick" long enough, gets thrown off and melts away. Moly paste "sticks", that's why it's hard to get off your hands after you use it.

Best bet would be to stay with the Honda Moly 60 grease.

Doesn't green grease come out of the back end of a goose?

At least that what it looked like to me!

better stick with the Moly 60 since as far as I know that is the only stuff that will lube the splines and stay there to keep lubing them, anything else will fail causing your splines to wear out.

Moly60 paste is the only thing I will use, I hate replacing the final drive.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll pick up some moly 60 this week. The last bike shop (previous owner) used regular looking bearing grease. I was in a pinch to get the rear end back together last Sat. night so I used the synththetic Green grease until I get the moly 60. Gears and driveshaft are looking good at 58,000 miles. working by myself it seemed easier to put the shaft in first insert into the u-joint then slide the the rear end into the shaft tube.

Its important to make sure the seal on the shaft going into the final drive is good, it makes a real mess if it leaks oil.
