Smells like gasoline
I had a gas smell also. Replaced the fuel lines and still had it. Got to checking a little closer and found that the fuel pump was leaking from inside.

I'm glad you found the leak as they just tend to get worse.

No research for price or anything. I just googled "fuel injection hose clamp" and there was a pic.

The fuel injection clamps make a better circle around the hose therefore a better seal.

It does look like it could do a better job than the standard screw-type clamp and I like the edge of the clamp that tapers outward to keep from cutting into the hose.

Maybe a bit of overkill for this application...but it looks good!

I really like the stock hose clamps on my car, an old BMW. The are essentially just a standard worm gear clamp, but instead of holes for the worm gear to engage the metal just has stamped indentations. This keeps the rubber on the hoses from being cut by each hole in the clamp.

I think you may have just saved me a bundle Vic. I was about a breath away from selling the bike for cheap because I thought I was looking at a carb rebuild. So instead I may be out what? 20 bucks in hoses and clamps, and I keep my wing. Thanks.

Glad I could help but don't ever let your bike go because you don't think you can do something on it. Even a carb rebuild is not impossible with the help of the guys on this site. Several beginners on this site have successfully rebuilt their bike's carbs and they ran great afterwards. All you have to do is ask for help and you will get some.

I agree with Vic.
I completly rebuilt mine. Just simply took my time to get it done and now it runs great.

Right now this whole thing is just wearing me out. I must be dense because it should be simple, but I can't find fuel line that will work and after market clamps are a no go when it comes to the left side carburater. What do I need to get? I have 1/4" fuel line and it seems way to fat and won't bend properly and the hose clamps are too big because of the space around the fitting on the left side carb. Can someone post a pic or something on that side? Thanks.

Call all the different shops in your area and find out who has metric fuel hose. I may be wrong but I think you need 6mm hose.

Well I have good news and bad news. I finally figured out after talking to the NAPA guy that wasn't 18 years old, but my age, ^Smile^ that motorcycles used a vinyl fuel line, therefore a smaller outside diameter but still the 1/4 inside diameter. So I bought some Corbin constant tension spring clamps size 3/8 and went to Cycle Gear for the clear fuel line and it worked beautifully and I could even see when my fuel pump finally started getting fuel back up to the carbs (Killed two birds with one stone.) Started it up and she purred like a kitten. :d Now the bad news. That left side carb started leaking fuel out of the bottom, I tapped on the bowl to see if the float was stuck but there is still some weepage from the bowl on the left side carb that is the farthest toward the back of the bike, the one right in front of your left leg when your riding. Is it time for a Randaak rebuild do you think?
