I believe the Rune actually uses the 1800cc engine.

Yes. The 6 banger engine is supreme. The new bmw touring 6 banger only pumps 168 hp/128 ft lbs of torque Whew.

BMW's are awesome except when it comes time for servicing or parts, it's like they want you to bend over and do something to you while you are in that position.

2 buddies bought 2003 Bmw Lt dressers. Great bike-handling-50+ mpg etc. One lost his tranny at 45k, the other sat in the shop for over 1 month with massive problems. BMW stepped up to the plate and extended his warranty for 4 years. This was after his nightmare 2001 gl1800 problems, being one of the first on the road. Big Red treated him like dirt=problems(we don't have any stinking problems ?) so he sold it for the new BMW LT and now is back in the saddle of a 98 1500, coming full circle from his 2000 1500 :<)

That's why I stick with my GL1200. It does most everything almost as well as any other bike can do and it never gives me major headaches. Only problems I've had so far is water pump, alternator, weak electrical plugs and starter relay, the rest is just routine maintenance, so that's not bad at all for an almost 30 year old motorcycle with full factory fairing, bags and trunk, digital dash, factory stereo, hydraulic clutch, shaft drive and linked brakes plus it even gets 50 MPG. I also think the GL1200 looks very pretty, but, maybe I'm biased a bit...not.LOL

The Valkyrie has the six carbs and hotter cams, but the Valkyrie Interstate has even hotter cams and a better tune to provide more ponies and grunt! That's the one you want!

Check out the orange sporterized machine in the pictures... besides being on a major weight loss program I believe my eyes see a turbocharger... :d
I wonder why it needs that brace across the rear swinging arm? :- |
