Replacement Stereo panel?
I've a '87 Interstate and I'd like to remove the aftermarket Sony stereo from the dash and replace it with a blank panel.
I've got helmet speakers for my I-Pod and an electrified tank bag with phone charger and amplifier from my last bike (Concours) for music on longer trips.
Besides I kinda like the engine sound and the quiet time that riding provides. :d
So is there a panel to clean up the hole maybe with just a clock or voltage meter?

T.I.A.
Neil

There is the origanal blank panel part #64268-MG9-770 which seems to still be available.
I'm thinking of getting one to replace the butcher job the previous owner did on mine.
I don't know if the radio still works as like you I never use it.

Ken - do you know if the radio blank panel is the same on Aspencade?

Thanks

I would assume that the blank panel would fit an Aspencade as its purpose is just to cover the hole that is used for the stock radio which the Interstate did not come with but I've never tried it so I don't know for sure.

Yes it is.
I still have my replacement panel, it comes with the bike even though the radio is present on the Aspencades.
I use mine when I wash my bike, removing the radio and covering up the CB with the lockable cover. Also if one is paranoid when stopping for the night you can pull the radio and place the panel there.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Thanks Ken & tricky,

I stopped by our Honda dealership and parts there blank panel part #64268-MG9-770 is correct for both "Interstate and Aspencade 84-87" - so they are bringing one in. Gasket is included.
