Rear brake light warning is on

My warning light is on & telling me the rear lights are not working,but they are working ok & the red warning light is so annoying,is there anyway of disconnecting this warning light or is it possible to use a (not sure which one it is) diode or a resistor to trick the computer into believing the lights are ok,I have checked the manual about taking the bulb out from the dash,but it looks like alot of ripping to do & i have no garage to do this in.Any ideas would be much appreciated.....Thanks

are you using leds?. some people just remove the bulb.

No leds on my bike,is there a handy way of taking the bulb out....

Warning lights are just that "WARNING" now you have stripped out the first line of defense.
When the tail light decides to go (sods law) you now have no warning system.
On todays roads you need all the help you can get.
I guess the pony and trap wont run into you but that cager, hovering on your tail, just treat that sucker as thick as a post he will need to see that red light come on when you brake.

BUMP on the "fix it". The warning system checks the resistance of the taillight system. If all the lights are working, it may be a bad sensor, or something as simple as a bad bulb.

My bike has done the same thing a few times,wiggle the key and it will go out. I think it was dirty contact in switch it has quit doing the red light thing. It had sat for six years rode daily now.
