Can't help you with the exact figures but I just wish that I would have got me one when they were new.

I also have a GL1200 STD and would really like to know the total number.

FYI my serial no ends in 002 so I'd really like to know if I have really old one. Date of mfg was June 1983

I started a thread on one of these sites; I "thought" it was NGW,but, now I'm not sure. I asked people to list the last 6 digits of their vin#'s. :?: There were several replies, but, as far as I got with it..most seem to think it was around 5K. Idea
It's hard to tell..someone suggested that Honda doesn't start @ 0, but maybe @1,000. So who knows what the real answer is? @-) I sure would LIKE to know! :-SS :d
:YMAPPLAUSE: BTW; The last 6 digits on mine are: 005096.

OK, I just dug up that thread; It is on NGW and the title is: "1984 standard?"

I'd like to know too! 5K worldwide would be a resonable number. I wonder if it could be narrowed down by (country destination?)
Anyway mine is 022387. But it's been defaced and molested.

Have been asking same question,as am lucky enough to own TWO of those JEWELS,found the first in 1998.Had 4560 miles on the clock, second one this year,67,000 miles on this one.First one is #177,other is 943,both made in June 1983, with zeros in front of number's 6/83 stamped on plates on frame for date of mfg.
Both have purple OD lite's, book calls for GREEN lite, 83 & earlier had purple lite for low air pressure in shock's,in same place. How many of these out there?
