wpgfire Wrote:L.E.D. Tech, I understand what your getting at but although it might be producing the current it won't be Charging the battery if the current is going into producing light or other energy using extra's. I have driven many miles using just the lighting and radio that was originally installed on the bike until the alternator died it never killed the battery through not charging, my Yuasa batteries had 3 years of life then I would notice a drop in power then I would change the battery. it became the next battery for the lawn tractor. I changed to the external alternator not really for the extra power it gives but for the piece of mind when I am thousands of miles away from home. But I do like the extra power for now I can have the extra lighting on... without the added expense of LED's
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Thatâs great.
I am going to do the external alternator as soon as I can too. But I will still continue with the LEDs. The light they put out is much more noticeable and very brilliant. I have always been somewhat of a "Tech head" as far as lighting goes anyway. When I see a vehicle with LED tail/brake lights for some reason they grab my attention right away, especially when the brake lights or turn signals come on, something about the way they kind of pop on all at once. Most of the Tractor Trailer, Police, Fire and ambulance vehicles have made the switch to LED to make them more visible Incandescent lights just donât command that type of attention or the above vehicles would still be using them Anything that call's more attention to our bikes, is worth the investment in my book (IMHO) Jim "LED's For Life" |

Help me out here... The website listed above goes to some health insurance company. Any update for those wanting a kit? I've done the alternator conversion, but would like to upgrade to LED for the wimpy wiring on the bike.

I ordered one of the kits and just received email confirmation from Jim last night that he received the kit from his manufacturer and was sending it out today. I'll let you know and post some photos when it comes in. I exchanged several emails with Jim and he was very quick about answering questions. Hoss |

L.E.D.tech Wrote:Jim, I'll answer Lawrence's quiery. The biggest reason is that the stators on our machince is historically unreliable even in stock comfiguration and by going to LED's you cut down on the load the weak stator has to supply. And if you want to add ANY accesories you will need to do this as well. I have a light bar on my trunk and may put the lower one back on when I get the Voyager framecover altered & with these I have replaced all the stock bulbs with LED's (all of which came from Jim). Good to see you back Jim. Angela aka fysty-1 :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:wpgfire Wrote:L.E.D. Tech,

L.E.D.tech Wrote:LED lights is no longer in businessI am a little confused Jim. In this first post you say that you are out of business then in the very next post Vic says that he loves your site & yet I see no link for your site. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ Sorry I just noticed that this thread is 2 years old. :ymblushing: #-O #-O #-O :ymblushing: :ymblushing: :ymblushing: :ymblushing: I knew first hand that Jim was out of business because I had spoken to him a few times so I guess I responded with hopefull anticapation. It is too bad as he supplied a great product & gave first rate service. Miss you Jim :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
