I have both a '85 LTD and a '09 GL 1800 and I'd say the times are not that accurate. I have a hard time believing the 1200 is almost as quick as the 1800. My 1800 is quicker off the line due to lower grearing and more torque at lower RPM and seems to have quicker throttle response. Top end I've seen about 10 more mph out of the 1800. However you'all got me thinking I need to take both to the local drag strip where they have fun nights just to see (and hope I don't break anything :twisted. My last time there was with my '84 V65 Magna 12sec flat @ 109 mph....

i don't know about 1/4 mile times because vic is right , most of us are just rolling along on the open road in 5th gear but my 1200 is not quite in the the power band and needs a downshift to get going where as my 1500 is always in its power band
