Apparently the SEi has a different K&N part number for air filters. (Even different from the LTD.) It's HA-8085, not HA-8084.

The LTD uses the 8084 like the others. (Edit: Now I have conflicting information -- The LTD may use the same filter as the SEi.)

I have no idea how it's different.

Has anyone found a reasonably priced air filter for the Gl 1200 Ltd. Advance Auto Parts says they have one for $45.86 (part # HA-8085)
That seems pretty high priced. Thanks

Once I get the air filter off do you recommend spraying any carb cleaner on the inside or any other service work.

yes most certainly but be cautious and don't over do it- I'd also recommend a good manual and you can download them for free

Went to Murrays for a radiator cap for an 86 GL1200 Aspencade and the Stant number is still 10227 . They also carry Fram oil filters for the 1200 but unless you have the number they dont have it in the computer.

"The earlier 84's had the larger neck in the radiator because Honda had a
bunch of Rads to use up from the 83 run?"
Can't remember where I found this. If you have an 84 like me, just
try both the 1100 and 1200 size.
When pulling up the Honda parts fiche, the 84 has separate listings based on your VIN number(manufacture date). At least at some vendors

G'day from Australia.While doing a search on the net came across a site called cyclemaxohio.I found there prices really good.In the maintenence section they have a oil/air/fuel filters and 4 spark plugs for $25. Sounds pretty good to me. You might want to check out there other parts as well. Have a nice day and ride safe. Larry J.

Tnroadrider,

I think the part number listed for the Goodyear timing belts (40272) is wrong (unless there is more than one part number that fits).

A couple of years ago I ordered the Goodyear 40070 "Gatorback" belts for my 1200 LTD from PartsAmerica (Advance Auto Parts) and they fit and work perfectly:

Sadly, they won't ship outside the continental US.

There are a couple other places to get parts (OEM) at what appears to be the same prices...

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_select.asp">http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_select.asp</a><!-- m -->

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/7/Honda.aspx">http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/par ... Honda.aspx</a><!-- m -->

Possibly one of the above will ship north of the border...
