How long have your owned your 1200?
I'm with DJ on this one. I'm amazed how low mileage most of you guys have. My '86 is about to turn over 103K (miles). I've put about 15K on since I got it in 2005. Like I've heard most people say, "Just getting broken in" & good for at least 250K before needing an overhaul. As long as they're maintained & treated well. Still the best bike out there, though. We need to put together our own GL1200 Rally. Find a good half way spot between the States & Canada with great roads.

In my part of Canada the only part halfway between has no roads and is quite wet Smile

Maybe as time progresses we can organize a larger 1200 classic meet, till then we will have to be satisfied with local meets between members in similar locations which is what seems to happening now.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Go big or go home. So why don't we plan on all meeting at sturgis in the black hills of dakota. (heh heh heh) Lets show the Harley owners some real bikes.......

Seriously, there is a Ride for Sight up here that attracts about 5,000 bikes each year. It sure would be nice to show up as a group and ride in it.
That kid did what?

Well, make a comment like I did about Sturgis and some one gets up and says "O.K." Just my luck.

I can't go to Sturgis. Momma won't let me.

But how about all of us trying to put something together for next season?

4 Months for me. Just for the record, the guy I bought it from had just taken delivery of a brand new Wing. When I picked mine up, he told me it was a sad day for him. He had just gotten back from his maiden ride to the Finger Lakes, and heard every plastic squeek on every bump he hit. He was sad to see his Midnight Blue Classic Wing go. Too bad for him, I on the other hand have had an amazing reunion season on this bike. Many more to come I hope. And to think I dreamt about a Harley since I was 12.

Original owner, leftover in '87, and as others have stated a lot of life got in my way of putting more miles on it, but still enjoy the ride on a like new bike

I was surprised to hear the guy I bought it from owned it for 12 years and the guy he bought it from owned it for 10 years. Yes, I'm the 3rd owner. I've never kept any bike for 10 years, maybe this one will be different.

How long have you owned your 1200?

How many previous owners?

Just curious for fun Smile

I bought my GL1200 Aspencade new in 1984. Still keeping the shint side up and the rubber side down. Unfortunately I just found out my baby needs a new stator. $1200 !!! Ouch

I bought my 1984A new in April, 1984. It has around 66,000 miles.

It is the black cherry and brown.
