Speedometer Noise
I have an intermittent squealing speedometer. I have lubed the cable and it still squeals, mostly when cold. Less noisy the longer you ride. I believe it is inside the speedometer itself. Not sure if it can be lubed a bit to stop the noise or I need a speedometer replacement. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just an update to my squealing speedometer problem, I have solved the problem. It was in fact inside the speedometer. I followed steps to remove speedometer from the dash, and carefully removed and partially disassembled the back of the speedometer. I believe the noise was coming from the bushing that supports the end of the speedometer where the cable is attached. I applied some oil to this part and re-assembled the unit and placed back in the bike. I have not had any more noise from the speedometer since. So anyone else with that particular annoying noise, it can be cured!
