Can't adjust suspension pressure

1985A...rear suspension pressure is very low (2 or 3 segments). Air compressor seems to start (makes noise) but does not affect indicated suspension pressure.
Any ideas of where to start troubleshooting? Pete |

check the lines for leaks using soapy water.
If it's actually pumping you will see the bubbles failing that a tear down of the compressor, not a tough job, you will need a manual
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

So I did a tear down of the whole system.
- Verified operation of the solenoid - Disassembled air dryer and re-baked the dessicant - Cleaned and re-assembled the front / rear selector - Blew out all the lines to verify all clear Re-assembled the system and it still doesn't work. Did the soapy water test - no leaks found. Not sure how well the pump works. When I pulled everything apart, I found plenty of evidence of mouse invasion. The suction end-piece was chewed off - no filter to be found. A big pile of pink foam insulation was up forward of the pump. Although the suction line was clean, starting to think that the pump sucked in some mouse-debris and is now fouled. Also found out that my bike is NOT equipped with a Schrader valve on the rear 3-way joint. So I have no way of manually inflating the system. I was able to order one from a guy who was parting out his bike...also picked up a new suction hose. Was able to reduce and subsequently increase the pressure on the front shock. Guess the next step is to see if I actually get air flow out of the rear feeder hose. |
