Rusted to crap headers and exhaust pipe

So I have an 87 interstate. Headers, exhaust, muffler are all pretty well chewed up and rusted. Fairly sure it's still solid. Doesn't seem to fart at me in any case.
Has anyone taken their exhaust off, scrubbed the beejesus out of it, and painted it with header paint? Results? Challenges? And just to clarify, I'm wanting to stop the rust, and keep it under control. Don't care about the looks. Would rather not paint them bright pink... but pink is better than gaping pits and exhaust leaks. |
