Accessory return connection
For the aftermarket stereo install that I would like to accomplish, I need three signals: +12V (un-switched), +12V (Accessory), and ground.

The +12V (Accessory) will be easy...a PO of my bike used the ACC terminals in the fuse box to install a cigarette lighter at the left-side lower fairing. So it is simply a matter or re-purposing that connection (although I should probably change the color)...

The question to the forum is can I re-use the existing Accessory return connection as the ground wire for the stereo installation? If it is connected directly to a grounding point, I should be able to use it. However, if the terminal is "floating" and is only connected to ground when the key-switch is in the appropriate position, it probably won't be a good connection. Then I'll have to supply a new ground connection as well a +12V (un-switched).

Thanks.

The ground should be fine at the ACC
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
