Is the GL1200 Aspencade clock supposed to go "off" when the key is out ??
Mine has remained "on" for years .... and years ... Possibly re-wired by a PO ?? Its such a small parasitic drain, that I have never worried much about it... until somebody told me, last weekend that its supposed to go " off".... SilverDave |

stays on the radio also uses juice to maintain memory and CB also if installed.
I all ways plug mine in to a battery tender junior unless battery is disconnected. I dont get to ride often enough any more so it is parked a lot.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

From what I read on the schematic for an '85 Interstate, there is a continuous power source to keep the time running (should be a nominal amount of current) and the display only comes on with the key in the on position.
The functions of the clock are: continuous time display ground According to the schematic: Red - Battery, coming off ignition switch to keep the clock running Green - Ground Light Green/ Black - Acc. of fuse block for the display so, check the plug and see if it has been altered. -Ride On
enjoying the view from the saddle....... due mainly to the people and information found within this site
