Tow Pac Insta Trike Enquiry Scary

Hi Wingers
My Dad has made a recent enquiry to Tow Pac Insta Trike to convert his 1200 '84 into a trike. He has bad legs! He asked for a document of safety testing (who did this) and this wasn't sent? He has requested this a few times from the owner. Each time nothing was sent to reassure him of the product safety. From a mechanic point of view, the box metal tube they use, is not as strong as tubular, hence why bike frames are all round tubes! The steering has been noted as binding and dangerous by a lot of users. Dad advised that he's was willing to get a cheap trike kit at over $3000 and yet the company won't send him any external safety testing information? Has anyone else experienced similar avoidance of safety standards please? Many thanks Angel |

You could read this, I was considering one of these also but not sure if my riding has come to a halt due to family circumstances, I've had a good run from 1956 till last year 58 years almost
http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/98-t...014-a.html The steering on a trike add on will always seem stiff due to the rake of the steering, if you tried a sidecar you would get the same stiffness, not binding, stiff. A lot of the conversions include a steering rake add on this isnt available for lower priced add ons like towpac etc
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Hi Sir Tricky
Thank you for your reply. Good to hear from you! Have you been knighted recently? This means you've been to London to see our UK Queen! :-) Q) This is an open question to all the Wingers. Would anyone consider spending $000's for a Tow Pac Insta Trike and not seeing any testing safety document of safety? I asked the Owner and he never replied, scary! Thanks Wingers! Angel |

Here is the link to his build. http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/10-r...n-3-a.html & also to the company. http://www.triwing.com/ Hope this is all a help to you. Cheerio Angela
