Shinko on rear?
Need a new tire on the back, I like the Elite 3 but they keep going up in price.

I did some looking around for the Shinko tourmaster - anybody see any good deals online?

Is there a better tire for the money?

the Michelin Commander II is somewhat cheaper than the E3 but haven't seen anyone who has any high mileage on them to compare against the E3's

everyone using shinkos seem to like them except for the mileage, but each rider may or may not get better mileage, for people that
can changeout their own tires, shinkos may be a good deal, but for people who have to pay a shop,i think a higher mileage tire would be more appropriate overall

Do an advanced Google search of your area to find a great deal on the Shinko. Last pair of Shinko's I bought came to about $212. delivered to my door including taxes. I think the reason, possibly, that some folks seem to get low mileage on the Shinko is that they keep the air pressure on the lower side and that translates to higher heat which causes increased wear.

Thanks guys, I will do that.........

I am getting 2 seasons out of an E3....I have a shoulder problem ongoing that is making riding any distance somewhat uncomfortable, so I think it may be a good time to try the Shinko's. Unless something changes soon it may be a summer full of short rides for me. If summer ever gets here, that is.................

I put Commander IIs on my bike but don't have enough miles on them to be significant. So far, so good. Hurry up, summer!!

Try going to Amazon. I got mine there. The rear tire is right around 80 dollars

Thanks all. The way the weather has been here I may trade the wing for a boat.

Think summer guys (and gals)

I just ordered a set of commander II's $262 to my door @ bikebandit. Best I could tell from all the reviews I read they are about the same as E3's but much cheaper.

I bought a set of Pirelli MT-66's and to be honest they are the best tires I've had or seen
