Drag Specialties back rest

ok, new to site, looking for some help, riding an 84 Interstate. Picked up a DS "wingleader" back rest off of Ebay, very clean and cheap (?), said it was off of an 84 1200 ( what else?) however, checking the mount brakets, they don't appear to line up with any bolt patterns under seat? Located install directions for later models that have a sissy handle/grab rail under passenger where they attach the bracket ( after cutting off handle spacers and adding spacers, but whatever it takes!) 84 doesn't have grab handle feature/ bolt pattern. Anybody got a DS on their 84? What do the brackets look like? DS has been no help yet! ..... and of course, now knowing a little more about backrest and mounting system, it did not get shipped with any spacers ( no big deal will fab up new ones if needed), cotter pins to hold seat to brackets or washer/ bushings to secure it all together! The parts man the parts! Surprise surprise! ... Right! Hoping someone out there got some info and even better a pic! ..... Crowe ....

Sure would be nice to see a picture of what you are working with. Post your pic on Photobucket then copy the IMG link and then post it here in your post so we can see what you're working with.
