I use Accel coils and wires on my bike. Quicker/smoother starts and no more engine sputtering/missing in the pouring rain, so far. The stock Honda transistorized ignition box is almost unbreakable. The pickup coils are a weak link in 85-87 1200's, not such a big problem in the 84's.

I am running the stock system, stock coils through stock wire harness (no relay) and stock high tension leads. Suits my current (no pun intended) need although the relay is a good idea and the automotive high tension leads may be better quality, cheaper, and more readily accessible.
