Front Brake Huge Improvement

Thanks to all the great advice on this site, my front brake got better but would still bottom out on the right grip. Caliper kit on the bench but not installed yet. Master cylinder kit installed. New stainless braided line installed. Last weekend I bled the upper banjo bolt then removed the front caliper. Put a piece of metal, same thickness as brake disk, between the pads then started pushing fluid backwards into the reservoir with a large c-clamp several times. Got a couple of small bubbles out the top. Finally have a full hand of front brake ! Was so excited I took a 300 mile test ride from Augusta to Atlanta and back to see the grandkids just to celebrate ! It isn't quite as rock hard as my 83 Suzuki 1100 or the 83 500 Shadow, but it's way better, very acceptable for a 29 year old land yacht. Thanks to all you great guys and gals sharing advice.

It happens, eh?

I downed the Wing a summer or two ago for 3 work days during the week, did some maintenance in the evenings. Buttoned things up Saturday morning, hopped on and went for a "spin".

Brakes are good...without them you wear out to many pairs of shoes trying to stop.

Years ago, when my right brake lever used to bottom I realized that the lever was bent so I used a 2 foot long piece of ABS pipe to bend the lever forward and now the lever never bottoms and I can lock the front wheel at 30 MPH if I want to.

can a wing do a rear wheelie stand at 30 mph?

With my old performance engine I could lift the front wheel on my Wing about a foot off the ground during initial acceleration in first gear using only engine power and not pulling the bars back hard. With my current stock engine there is no chance that will happen, although, I am sure that there are stunt riders out there who can make anything wheelie by using momentum and balance. Doing a wheelie at 30 mph would be quite a challenge on our bikes because of the massive weight, besides, coming down would be downright scary because all that weight would just slam into the ground and any miscalculation would cause a lot of scars on your helmet.
