faulty fuel pump servicing advice please

greetings from a very wet uk, across the pond!

update on the engine assy swop.

the new engine is in now and looks great!
the goldwing mechanic (50 years) advised me that
the fuel pump is not working and the points inside were corroded.

i've now sourced a used pump off ebay. the seller advised that the pump
came off a working wing and yet was dead on arrival?
i paid some £93.50 brit pounds and the advised the seller
that his pump doesn't work.
i've filed a claim on ebay, for receiving a none working part.

the qualified mechanic advised me that there is a water ingress
in the pump itself and it wouldn't work, due to the water shorting out
the wiring!

the seller is now advising me that the fuel pump 'can't be serviced, it's sealed for
life'

is this true?

Yes, it is true the pump is "sealed" but with that said, some have had luck repairing them and getting them to seal back up again.

I said some had luck, personally I just bought a new one when mine went south!
The fuel pump is still being produced by Mother Honda, around 130 dollars US for one

I've now ordered a new oem pump
from Honda. everything is new
on the wing, so happy days
when he eventually fires up!

I've decided to sell my original
engine (just 37k miles) on an '84
on fleabay.

I've just compared the fuel pump
price in the usa, compared to the uk.
usa price is £85 brit pounds.
to buy in the uk, £182. ouch buds!

where can you buy them for your
price wh?
