Restoring the face of a trip computer

There were some posts way back when that was in reference to restoring the GL1200 LTD Trip Computer's faceplate. There was a template floating around for creating it, but is no longer available or cannot be found on the site.
If there is anyone out there that can help with this topic, I would appreciate a response to the post. There are a number of us that are interested in acquiring the template. I would pursue this further, but I've hit a dead end on the topic. All help would be appreciated!

I'm also interested in this subject and any solutions. I was thinking of finding a computerized laser cutter and have them cut one using very thin brass. This could then be painted the color needed. But open to any solutions as in my restoration this is one area that needs work.

FYI That would work in part, but there is some background lighting in the panel. You will notice it when you are riding at night. With brass, you will be losing that feature. On previous treads on the topic, the solution was to use something similar to a 3M transparent film. That would be a good solution. Now if we can only find the template for it, that would be great!

My ideas are to cut the thin brass with a laser then attach to the three M or other product for the light to shine through at night. Have three spare travel computers to send to lazer cutter to do the computer work when I find a laser cuter to do the work will let you know. If the idea works will let you know and can have more cut. The cost is in the set up cost will come down with additional cuts. If you are intrested let me know.
