Loose Mirror Fix
after tightening the adjustment nut on the mirror almost to the point of breaking the stud and still not fixing a loose mirror,i just took a 4mm pilot drill (7/64") and drilled a hole into the ball socket from the front, tapped to 4mm and screwed in a 4mm allen bolt tight, problem resolved,in the future should another adjustment be needed will just redrill and tap another hole
this is a normal problem when using replacements for oem mirrors

Here is another method, but similar to above:

This will work with a loose stock Mirror or the el-cheapo aftermarket mirrors as well.

1. Get your self a 1 1/2 inch 7/32 bolt and a ny-lock nut with two washers.
2. Remove mirror, remove the rubber boot, replace mirror.
3. Then go for a ride to set the mirror where you want it.
4. Drill a 7/32 hole all the way through the outside and center Ball.
5. Now change the drill bit to a 1/4 inch.
6. Now drill just the outside holes to this size (each side, not all the way through this time.
7. Now install the bolt, ny-lock nut, washers one each side, and tighten.
8. trim off the excess bolt with a Dremmel tool or hacksaw.
9. Remove the mirror and install the boot again.
Your Done!

This way will allow for minor bumping of the mirror, and will still be adjustable,Yet it wont put stress on the Fairing mount if it was a Solid connection, because it is still able to move slightly.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
