When changing spark plug wires?
What has to be removed to get to coils when changing out spark plug wires? Do wires plug into coils just like on a distributer?

you will have to remove the lower fairing. The wires are held in by screw on caps

Frank;

The Honda microfiche shows the wires removable, like your picture shows. However, the wires are built into the coils on my 85 Interstate and the spare coil I have also has the wires built in. What's going on?

The part number for the Honda replaceable wire is 30750-MG9-P00, available from Western Honda for about $13.

On my 84 aspencade the coils are buried-can't even see them--does the air box need to be removed to have access to them? Can the little cap on old wire at the coil be taken off and put on the new wires?

Yes you can remove the cap and washer and reuse them. I believe that the plug boot will unscrew from the wire too so you should just have to go to the automotive store and buy some new wire. there will be a little prong inside of the coil you need to clean that before installing the new wire so you have good contact. I Like what they call solid core wire.

NAPA sells solid-core ignition wire by the foot. Just tell them what you need.
