"Here is another tidbit of info we may be able to use:

"Here is a new part number for the temp sensor. The automotive equivalent for the Interstate sensor is: 37750-611-154. Honda numbers with a MB9 are coded for 1200 Goldwings, numbers with 611 are automotive listing of the same part. So if you are having difficulty finding a part, try changing out the MB9 with 611.

I picked up a sensor from NAPA for $28."

The Honda lists at $38 at Ronayers.

keep in mind that this is for the Interstate single pin sensor"♦

TNroadrider,
Your parts list for timing belts is right on. Yesterday Fri. Mar. 16, I order a pair of timing belts from the NAPA store in Caledonia Ontario using the NAPA P/N 250070. The store did not have them in stock so they ordered them direct from the Gates Warehouse in Brantford. Parts (NAPA P/N on box) arrived for pick-up today Sat Mar. 17 09:00. Total cost with tax for the two belts was $48.59 Cdn. I'm plan on changing the belts this week.

Timing Belts (2 each)

NAPA – 250070
Gates – 5043 or T070
Goodyear - 40272 [/b]

Thanks wpj46, glad to be of service. If you come across any other items which work let me know and I'll try to add it to the list.

Also Thanks to jim1021 for his information on the CarQuest timing belt part number and hose info.

Have a safe and fun riding season.

I was told by the NAPA people today that the part number for the Stant GL1200 radiator cap is now 31333 rather than 10227.

Hey, TN, I finally got around to draining the coolant et al from my 'Wing this morning and found that the NAPA/Stant rad cap no. 31333 does NOT fit my '84. It is quite a bit too small. I'll check in to it further on Monday and advise.

:) Thanks for the Parts lists-- I can tell now that this is one of the best site going for us Wing riders. It sure makes things a lot easyier to work on your bike without running to Honda for parts. I have almost all the parts lined up to put the Poor Boy on my ride. Again thanks,Chuck

Here's a link for a possible substitute fuel pump for the Limited Edition and the SEI fuel injected bikes:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog ... 8225k59872

I believe the Bosch pump is the one.

Oh and by the way, I did pick up a set of Gates T070 Timing belts. I changed the belts about 20k ago but figured for the extra $30.00 I'd replace them now.

After seeing some posts, I figure it would be better safe than sorry to get the Timing Belts but am baffled (happily) at the $30 you mentioned. When I went to price them out online at a Honda website they were $158.44 for the pair. (Honda ELT, TIMING for 1985 Honda GL1200A - 14400-MG9-004 - $79.22 each)

Is the Gates T070 belts a direct replacement for the Honda ELT, TIMING for 1985 Honda GL1200A - 14400-MG9-004 part number? (I hope, I hope)

Hmmm FOUND IT. http://gl1200goldwings.com/viewtopic.php?t=162

After thinking about it a while I thought someone posted a part number conversion list and after a few attempts (HAPPILY) found it. Now what should I do with the extra $130 . . . . . THANKS EVERYBODY. Your the best.

THANKS TNroadrider. Your posts on the Electrical connections for the Poor Boy kit were / are GREAT and this post saved me a BUNCH of money. THANKS A BUNCH. I appreciate your continued good input.

Freakin' computer . . . . had a very eloquent response that is now GONE . . . . . It was pretty darn good too, take my word for it . . . .

(Having to rephrase) The bottom line is your feedback can make the difference for a LOT of people to do the right thing by their Wing's at reasonable prices rather than having to make the tough financial decision whether to roll the dice and hope the part, whatever it is, makes it or spend excessive dealer costs to replace them . . . . personally speaking, I KNOW I should replace the belts but WOW $160 does not fall off tree's in my neighborhood. $30 doesn't either but is MUCH easier to find . . . .

I appreciate your "lessons learned" and 'sperience a LOT

I come down to the Bristol Races twice a year (usually). How close are you to Bristol?
