Recreating Lower Border of '85 GL1200A Windshield
Original windshield had a black decal placed there to fade from black to gray on the lowest visible 3" edge. Has anyone successfully recreated that on their replacement unit?

My thinking is to airbrush it, but I struggle with how to do the fade. If someone knows of an off the shelf product that is appropriate (clear backing) for adherence to Lexan, I'd be grateful for their help. Or is it just a matter of technique - I love to hear your thoughts.

I have an air brush, I haven’t tried it yet, but my understanding from reading is, the fading can be done with an air brush, and YES, it IS technique.
Do some reading on the uses of air brushing and I think you will find your answer.

Thanks - I will dig into this. Sometimes research helps. As well as practicing on the old windshield to test and refine what I read (or view if find something on youtube).

Do you already have the new windshield?Just asking because you can buy them with the stuff you are trying to add already on it.In a variety of colours as well. You can colour match to your bike.

Chris, I do have the new one still in the box so ordering one with shading is out, but I have found and ordered window tint made for airbrushing that I will use. I plan to practice on the old one to find the proper technique. If successful, I will post pics.
Cheers,
Dan
