WTB GL1200A HONDA FAIRING EMBLEM

Looking to buy a good condition HONDA emblem (badge) that mounts on trunk lid behind the seat back or on the windshield garnish. Its size is approximately (ya know - originally metric dimensions) 5 7/8" x 7/8". It is smaller than the ones mounted on the fairing sides – they are closer to 8” long and won’t work for me. The originals on my '85 Aspencade have the gold foil coming off. I've had no luck scouring the internet, ebay or etailers. Its that I would like to put a good one on the garnish I've got polished up.

If you don't have one but know where I can find one, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I doubt you will find them however some people have had luck using gold leaf to refinish them, if you go to the Steve Saunders forum you can search there for some ideas http://www.goldwingfacts.com if you search for gold leaf you will get some ideas

I followed your suggestion and read that gold colored foil was the ticket for restoring GW emblems. I immediately ordered some from bare-metal.com web site. I plan a follow up post on my results and maybe a how to if it turns out real good. My goal is a shiny like-new emblem to accent my repainted front fender. Thanks Tricky.
