Another Cigarette Lighter/ Accessory Question
Please forgive me for asking yet another question on this subject. I know it's like beating a dead horse, but I can't seem to find the answers by searching.

- If I mount the lighter/Acc socket in that place in the upper right side of the fairing as most rider's seem to, is there any factory wiring I can tap into or should I go directly to the battery?

- What gauge of wire would you suggest I use for this socket as a Cigarette Lighter?

I would go direct to the battery using a fuse and even a relay that would be controlled by the ACC + at the fuse box.

Unless of course you want it powered while the engine is off, then you wouldn't use the relay.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Ok, here's another question. With the recognized electrical shortcomings of the 1200, can you add an outlet in that spot with out draining the battery, or effecting the stator?? If all is good, I just might put one my 1200.

Depends on what your going to run on it..... an mp3 player no probs, lighting a cigarette, no probs, (providing the wire and fuse are sufficient) plug the kettle in uh uh especially if your driving, you will spill the water and may get burnt too Smile
