ok so i have the markland trunk and saddlebag bumpers. I want the lights to come on with the marker lights. but my question is should I make it work like this or should I make them come on with the body lights.
now for my next question what is the best way to do this.

Unless you have LED lamps or an external alternator, I would highly recommend a separate switch, otherwise you will be sitting with a dead battery on the side of the road in about 1 hour.

From what i was recently told I need some form of flat steal stock that attaches to the underside mounting bolts if the saddle bags.

It appears the tabs for mounting to the saddle bag bolts are already there... Question is.. In the center of the bumper is there a couple round tubes to plug into the saddle bag framework?
It would look like this: (Most likely without the shinier section of chrome seen in this picture)

Nope i dont have anything like that. this unit the only metal is the tubes the chrome lighted parts are plastic. The tabs on the bumper don't even reach the mounting points of the saddlebags. I was told i need 4 2"/3" flat steel that mount to the bag base then to the bumper. this was from the p.o.. It also looks like i'm going to have to modify it somewhat in order to still be able to use the trailer hitch without changing it, as it sits right on the hitch plate. and i cant lower the hitch unless I can find a way to extend where the ball is some.

Thats what I was thinking, but he says he already has that.
Not sure if mine is markland or drag specialties, but it fastens on similar to picture Frank posted. At the front it fastens to the crash bars at the front of the bags and at the back, the "U" bumper is removed and the bracket tubes slide into the tubes on the saddlebag frames.

i have both the trunk and the saddlebag guards. the tubes are chromed steel i think but where the lights are mounted is abs chromed plastic. this photo i have included here is the trunk guard and that on and working great. it mounts to the rear two points and two points that hold the antenna mounts
