It's time for cool weather no-riding
Well, due no doubt to global warming, we have snowdrifts a-plenty, and no highs above freezing in the forecast till next Tuesday. It is a nice January morning. In October. :-W Fortunately we keep a Ski-doo for just such an occasion. Time to start preparations on the grandkid's sliding hill out back. And a bit of southern California moto map gazing...

Here on Vancouver Island I noticed snow on the top of a small mountain I can see from the kitchen window. That was Sunday. Since then it has been raining almost steady. Yuk! On the way to work I passed that poor guy on the Harley who convinced his wife that if he could have a Harley he wouldn't need the pickup. He looked pretty miserable.

The riding season out here was so warm and dry and long this year, and then one day it ended, just like someone threw a switch.

Ah well, there are things I need to do other than riding, and with the weather so nice we weren't getting anything done but riding, nearly every evening, and every weekend. Not fond of winter but it passes soon enough.

well the last couple of days driving over a couple passes, the Paulson from Castlegar to Grand Forks then over Big White and last but not least over the Coquihalla all of them had snow on top.
so I think the winter season is here and Vana will be parked for a while, I have a couple of things to do.
I am installing a new charging wiring harness and I think I am going to change all the lights to LED over the winter.

Just because I can….. :-

The weather here in Southern California will average a high of 77 and a low of 61 over the next ten (10) days.
Due to the present economy, this ‘poor guy’ is required to ride, rain or shine, unless it becomes too dangerous to ride.
My commute averages 310 miles a week with errands on the weekend.
My ride may get put up for a day if I have no errands, longer if maintenance can’t be done in a day or overnight.
Recently, when doing an oil change, I noticed the lower shock mount on the right-rear was broken and required an arc-weld. Down three days that time.

I have friends who don’t ride as much as I do and as such, go through withdrawals. 8-X

I can’t imagine putting a bike up for months at a time. My condolences go out to you all.
