Question for Elite III owners
I am about to buy new tires for the 87' Aspencade. I would like to put Dunlop Elite III Bias ply on but have read a few reports that say there is a wobble problem with them. Any of you guys or gals have any experience with elite III's good or bad? I already have the dreaded 30-40mph wobble and don't want it to increase!! Maybe someone could suggest an alternative tire that works better? Any advise is always greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!

Put my E3's on and they are great.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

I have a new E3 on the front.......it didn't cure my wobble, but it may have improved it some.

That is one nice tire, I don't think you would be sorry for buying it......

gidday Gary,

I have an 86 aspy and I recently put on elite 111 front and rear. they are just great, they certainly suit the bike, she has become more responsive, and have made her quite light on her feet. I oversteered for a wee while, until I got used to them.

I have no wobble at all, they work well in wind, rain, and uneven asphalt. I rode over about a mile of road works shingle, etc, and there was no deviation, what so ever.

I'm really happy with them.

cheers.

I had Elite 2's on before and now have the E-3. I Love these tires and would not use another brand. I got 20000 miles on the Elite 2's and hope to have similar resluts with the 3's.

I need to qualify the answer,

A couple of years ago I installed front Progressives, never really went into raptures like some riders do over the installation but that might be due to my conservative riding.
Last winter after 200,000k I decided to do a complete overhaul of the front end, bushings, seals etc, used 15 weight fork oil (measured to Progressive specs), tightening up the steering head to manual specs and installing rear Progressives.

Then installed the E3's. No doubt the maintenance would have some bearing on the stability but the the way the new tires track grooves and tar strips really impresses me.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Hey Gary,
I notice a little wobble if the pressure drops below 35 psi. I generally try to keep them between 40 - 42. I love the E3's.
