Yes, it is a bug shield. Believe it or not, it helps (if you look through the bottom half of the windshield). But, it does save on the Plexus. I found it at a flea market for $10.00 and figured it would be worth that for the attention away from the 1500's and 1800's.

I had the seat, backrests, and side pocket cover all redone by a local upholsterer. They are faux ostrich. He re-padded everything, used top of the line marine materials and thread, and threw in new snaps for the fairing pocket for $145.00 US. The nice thing was a dropped off at 900 in the morning and picked up at 400 in the afternoon, so I was only without my ride for less than a day. I have won two local shows and I think it had a lot to do with it, plus me being anal about keeping it cleaned and polished. :lol:
