Final drive vent cap

Ok, here is a good one for you guys. The vent cap on my final drive fell off yesterday. The vent is still in place, but the cap is off.
Anybody know where the hole is in that vent? I can't see or feel any place - there has to be an opening someplace on it.....???? I was going to glue the cap back on but don't want to clog up the vent hole with glue.... any ideas?? thanks

I've never had a specific vent off on a GL1200. But I have on other Honda's. Don't see why it would be any different, but ya never know. The vent itself is a brass looking tube with a very small hole at the top. The actual vent is pressed into the drive housing. The mushroom cap slides over the vent "tube". Have a look at the top again. Maybe it has some goo in the hole? Use a pick or paperclip and check the top of the vent for any obstructions.

I have the same problem. The inside of my cap looks and feels smooth. My son removed it by mistake when we were changing the rear oil. I haven't been able to put it back on for a few months. Hope I don't damage anything.
