Car Tires - Metzler M880 - Michelin Commander 2
Has anyone used the new Michelin Commander 2 tires?

I have Metzler M880 fitted now. The rear is going to make the "suggested" expected life of 20,000km (12,500miles) easy - likely 22,000-23000 if I want. They have been great tires except for the howling noise they make on certain road surfaces when you are leaned over in a fast curve at more than 100km/hr (60mph) - if you find yourself on a great "Gold Wing Road" with those fast sweepers it gets annoying...

Michelin is publishing test results suggesting double the life of other premium touring rear tires from Commander 2's - in the 40,000km range (25,000miles) as well as other tire structure technology that has me thinking I might try a set and report back. Once the Frozen Time is over.

These tires look very interesting to me! The Commander tire has got very good reviews and priced pretty good. I will give these another look when its time to replace my E-3's.

I have the Commander and I have zero complaints. Comfortable ride, good tracking and grip. I'm hoping to get about 15,000 miles out of it, we'll see.

Are the Commander 2's radial or bias ply?

I believe they are bias tires in GL1200 sizes.

Thanks. They sure appear to be decent tires that I'll look into carefully when my E3's wear out.
