The bike is a 84 aspencade..there are 2 knobs on the lower left fairing that i dont know what they do.under knobs 1 says auto volume the oter say tone..can anyone help me

If the auto volume is working ok, it will increase the volume of the radio as the speed increases, saves reaching for the volume control on the radio all the time, it works very well. The knob will increase the amount of amplification, it is very subtle but if working, when your traveling turn the knob you should hear a slight increase or decrease in sound.
It works off the speedometer which in turn gets it's information from the speed sensor on the front wheel.
The tone control will give a slight increase or decrease in the bass or treble, very very slight.

Ditto, but it only works with the fairing speakers, not the helmet mounted speakers (headset).
