Battery cover came off on the freeway the other day. I am supremely unhappy about this.

Gold Aspencade - 85 - need the left side cover. Will take any color if I can get both sides for a decent price, that way I can shoot them to match.

It looks like with some work it will do the job but the shipping cost is outrageous.

I'm not sure what they have at the moment, but I'd suggest you try Green's Salvage in Millwood, KY. they have a "Goldwing Alley" with tons of parts. Lot's of GL1200 parts (A whole barn full) and they just might have what you need.

MODEST PROPOSAL

I've gotten neurotic about losing a side cover. The posting "Seeking the most expensive part ever," reinforced my neurosis! However, some time ago I spotted a not very expensive ($20-$25 per kit) side cover tether kit that I bought several months ago ... and at least that's one less thing I worry about.



The tether kits come with super cement for attaching the tether components to the panel and bike. In fact, I have tethers mounted to my saddle bag lids as well.

These are sold by a biker as Rudy's Keeper Kits I bought the GL-1200 (Item: CK2) Full Bike Kit for about $60 which provides enough material to tether any panel that can be lost while riding.

The tethers are very easy to attach, and once the ABS very high bonding cement sets it seems very unlikely that the tethered panel can come off and get lost. :YMAPPLAUSE:

I installed Rudy's Keeper Kits this season. Rudy ran a special around Christmas time and I purchased the complete set for $48 including shipping. Besides not ever worrying about the lids blowing off, when I am looking in the saddle bags, the covers hang nicely next to the bag. No more tripping over them and almost stepping on them. All the tether's have a nice quick disconnect so you can remove them completely if needed.

When I lost mine I bought a used one from a M.C. salvage.
I also purchased one of these, Heck just buy one of the repop's! very impressed with the quality of theses side covers.
