Starter turns over slowly
It has been a long time since I posted anything but the wing has been running fantastic until the other day. I took it to work and when i was ready to leave jumped on the wing and it would turn over very slowly and would not start had to push start it. Look all through the stater forum could not find anything on testing the starter system. Anyone have any ideas?

I would start with the battery, make sure it has a full charge and is not in need of replacement. Check the battery to see it has about 14.5 volts at 2500 rpm,

And no accessories turned on.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Fully charge the battery and then load test it.

If problem continues then clean the ground connections on the battery and at the engine, also rebuild the starter adding the grounding wire from the brush plate to the end cone to create a good ground rather than just grounding by it's contact with the casing.

Finally clean/repair the solenoid wires as needed.

I pull the starter and clean it, brushes were at 8mm decided to put back together still slow. Took the battery to have it tested had 1 dead cell the battery is less than a year old. I guess you can't take anything for granted. The next time it happens I will start with the battery and go from there. The wing now fires up nicely. Back on the road again. I have ordered the starter rebuild kit for the future.
Thanks for all your suggestions. Mike

I was also wondering if anyone has a trunk lid for a 85 LTD for sale? They are very hard to find.
Thanks Mike
