Problem with a locked up Progressive Shock.
Progressive 416 rear shocks (GL1200) I purchased new around 5 years ago, bottomed out and will not lift bike off of the stops, locked during ride (very hard on the butt) although the air meter still powers up and reads correctly.
I have spoken to the manufacturer and they said they are looking at $200.00 or so as a best guess to repair, or give me a discount on new shocks instead.
I sent the shocks back to them for repair.

UPDATE

I just heard back from the factory and they have rebuilt both shocks for free, I paid only for the shipping and $17.00 for new seals and oil.

Apparently an inner bushing had come loose and pivoted inside the housing and that was binding causing the shock to lock up.

I should be getting them back by Monday and able to install them back into the bike then.

I take back everything I 'almost' said about Progressive Suspension, these are some classy guys and come recommended by me to be sure.

'RIDE TO BE SEEN' :d

Most common quote from a cager after killing a motorcyclist.

"I never saw him" instead of "I never looked for him".

Gotta love it when companies actually "service" the customer. I'm just waiting on my Federal tax return to order my Progressives, front and rear.

you might want to consider rebuilding your stock shocks with progressive springs, you'll have less than half the cost of real progressives when your done,i had already bought a real set and than bought an sei that needed shocks too, redid the sei's shocks using the aspy's old shocks and found no difference in either after i was done, also like the fact that you reuse the stock airlines too
