Ground up Rebuild of 1984 GL1200 Aspencade.
Hi Lemen, I was given an 1985 GL1200 Aspencade and intend doing exactly as you have done. I am keen to learn from your experiences in using suppliers and products.
I am not too far away Edinburgh, so you may have used people in the uk to do some work for you?
I have been through your threads and pictures and it is, I have to say absolutely fantastic the time and patience you have, to be so precise with pic's and explanations.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Great work ^Smile^

Cheers
Colin

Hello Colin
I have quite a bit more work done with various parts, I just have not
posted the stuff on here.
All the work I have done myself by hand except the powder coating.
I would be very interested to touch base with you.
I have also done a lot of research on the different variants of the 1200
and I have collected quite a lot of parts.

I was over in Edinburgh for the Tattoo in 2010 with the family, we loved it, love Scotland.
We want to go back.

Hi Lemen,

Good to hear from you. Of course would be interested in any of the information you may have, what I have picked up is that the 1985 to 87 Aspencade have a lot of similar parts.

Do you have any parts you are looking to move on? Just let me know what you have got ?

We have a bike club, our web site is bonnyriggmcc.co.uk good bunch guys but getting it tight over the Wing. Just now I ride a Aprilia Tuono Streetfighter... great bike, but so different to the Wing. Anyway, the wing is a restoration project which will be completed over the next couple of years..hopefully! :^O

I will post some pics I have so far, just to show how bad it is..

cheers
Colin
