My brothers 79 1100
My brother has a 79 1100 in great shape, the only problem is the coils and wires are toast as they are original. Dose anyone know and recommend a place where he can get a good working replacement??

Chuck, try They are very reputable and specialize in older 'Wings.

OK, its only 7:30 am here so I'm still in a bit of a fog but am I missing something? If that's a 1979 1100 in great shape I want to know if he's willing to sell it. I'd have the only one in existence! So is it a 1979 or an 1100? Can't be both.

The original GL1100 had a bad frame so a 1979 frame was bought and everything from the GL1100 was moved to the 1979 frame.

Easy. ~O)

Sure would be a nice match for my '73 Gl1000. :d[/quote]

Yeah, and for that GL1300 I keep seeing mentioned in parts charts. Maybe if we ordered the entire parts list we could build it?

Too late. I looked. Not all parts are available. BUT :d I noticed, while reading the parts lists for all GL's, that the GL2000 has parts which will fit, but they are not available until 2013 (the plant in Carson, California will not be running until 2012). So, you can order all the parts for the GL1300 now, then have to wait until 2013 to get the GL2000 parts which will replace the missing GL1300 parts. It may be worth the wait to have one of the very few GL1300 ever built!
Of course, by 2013, Honda may have figured out how to get rid of that huge solar panel on their GL1300 hybrid.

Time for some de-caf ~O)
