New carbtune

I tried my new Carbtune last night for the first time and found it to be outstanding. I had some concerns with the plastic adapters, I thought they may be a bit weak at first but they work just fine. It is easy to use and the concept of the metal bars instead of liquid is much better. I am sure sold on the Carbtune, I really like it.

I used my new Carbtune last weekend. Wonderful tool. Bike runs much better now - hopefully my gas mileage will improve (was down around 32mpg US for 50/50 city/hwy). Sync was way off - both left plugs were wet. Also put in a set of new plugs, fresh 15W40, and Seafoam in the gas.
Hardest part was removing the vacuum port screws. Two were easy, one required the impact driver, one needed a vise grip.... then I cut a slot on the head to use a flat blade driver in the future. My Visa bill showed up - total cost was $108 Cdn at my door. Well worth it. |

I like mine also. Nicest thing about it is that it will never spill mercury or blue kool aid.
If your tool ever gets sticky don't forget that there is a cleaning process available from the manufacturer that will clean the inside of your tool and make it work like new again.

I finally made some progress with my low speed gurgling .... drilled out the pilot screw caps and backed out the screws a half turn.... I no longer see carb rebuild kits in my near future.... maybe a needle shim but then I'm not finished playing with the mixture adjustment yet ... Ms Piggy's days may be numbered. I would greatly miss her but it's getting kind of cramped in the garage with the vintage Corvette I just added to the stable... and I need a dirt bike. |

What a shame.. that is the prettiest ace I have seen . Just build on an addition, you can never have too much room.

Thanks, I'm hoping her good looks will bring a pretty price in the spring, she won't go for another year otherwise. I spend too much on toys to afford an addition, I have a 4 cages including the 'vette, 3 boats and a snowmobile. I'm getting too old to worry about keeping things for the long term anyway. |

That's why I held out for the 86. The hard ride of the 84/85 was a little crazy.

I look at the rough ride as a good thing cuz that means I won't drive it/beat it up, and wife is happy, etc. I have to say it will take a corner like ok never mind even slowing down. I think springs from one of the early '90's can be fitted on it but I'm hoping to not put money into it... has new tires and battery great paint and new weatherstripping (except outer side windows) no leaks, and came with a nice cover. I have receipts back from '99 for maintenance stuff, it has had only about 4K miles put on it in past 10 years. The rear seal was a little weepy but it appears it could re-seal ok, at least no actual drip so far, I put Valvoline maxlife oil in it. |
